  1.     SETTING UP J.Q.L. HORSE FORM LITE FOR WINDOWS
  2.          Copyright 1993 John Q. Lavelle

  4. First you need to set up Horse Form Lite to run on your computer.
  5.  
  6. Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or greater (from now on referred to
  7. as Windows) must be installed on your computer.  For information
  8. on installing and using Windows, please see your Windows
  9. documentation.
  10.  
  11. Switch on your computer and monitor.
  12.  
  13. FROM WINDOWS
  14.  
  15. 1. Start Windows. If windows is not running, type  WIN  at 
  16.    the command prompt (the  C:>  prompt) and press ENTER.
  17.  
  18. 2. Open the Windows Program Manager window. If the Windows
  19.    Program Manager window is not open, then double-click on
  20.    the Program Manager icon, (or press CTRL+ESC to display
  21.    the Windows Task List, then press the DOWN ARROW or UP
  22.    ARROW key until the Program Manager item is highlighted,
  23.    then press ENTER).

  25. 3. Insert the Horse Form Lite program disk into your floppy
  26.    disk drive (if you are using a 5 1/4 inch disk or a drive
  27.    that has a door, then close the door).
  28.  
  29. 4. From the Program Manager window, click on the word FILE
  30.    to open the menu and click on RUN, (or press ALT+F, and
  31.    press the R key).
  32.  
  33. 5. In the Command Line box, type   A:\SETUP .
  34.    (If you are using a different drive to drive A:, then
  35.    type the correct drive letter instead of "A:".  e.g. If
  36.    you are using drive B:, then type  B:\SETUP.)
  37.  
  38. 6. Click on the OK button or press ENTER.
  39.  
  40. 7. Once the Setup Program has loaded, a series of instructions
  41.    is displayed on your screen, just select the options which
  42.    best match your system and requirements.

  44. 8. Horse Form Lite will create its own Program Group in your
  45.    Program Manager window.

  47. NOTES
  48.  
  49.    Check your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory for the file VBRUN300.DLL,
  50.    be careful as you may have files with very similar names (i.e.
  51.    vbrun100.dll or vbrun200.dll). If VBRUN300.DLL is not in your
  52.    \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory you must copy it from the J.Q.L.
  53.    Horse Form Lite distribution disk to your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  54.    directory. For more information on copying files see your
  55.    Windows documentation or use this example.

  57.    COPY C:\JQLHFL\VBRUN300.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VBRUN300.DLL

  59.    No manual is supplied on the disk because the Help file is
  60.    always more up to date and is recompiled every time there is a
  61.    change in the program. If you require a manual, then print out
  62.    the help file by selecting each section in turn and pressing
  63.    the PRINT button which is next to the browse buttons on the
  64.    Help file's menu bar.
